Meet Your Hosts
We are Yannis and Brigitte, and we’ll be your hosts during your stay.
Yannis & Brigitte
Yannis hails from Crete, while Brigitte is originally from Belgium. With many years of experience in tourism, we truly enjoy making guests feel comfortable, welcome, and at home.
Yannis works as a professional tour guide and has extensive knowledge of the local area, while Brigitte is a reservation manager at a charming boutique hotel. Together, we take great pleasure in sharing the beauty, culture, and warm hospitality of our region with visitors from all over the world.
We have three grown children who have left both our home and the lovely town of Rethymnon to follow their own paths. As we move closer to retirement, we’ve chosen to open our home to guests during the summer months.
Our house is situated in the quiet village of Mikra Anogia, meaning “Little Anogia.” Beyond simply offering a place to stay, we also enjoy sharing our passions and hobbies with our guests.
Yannis tends to his “Bostani,” an organic garden about a 20-minute drive from the village, where he grows vegetables, fruit trees, plants, flowers, cacti, and more. Guests are welcome to visit, and he’ll happily give you a tour.
Brigitte creates her own cold-pressed olive oil soaps and hosts workshops at the Bostani garden, where you can learn how to make your own soaps using olive oil, essential oils, and dried herbs.
We warmly invite you to join us. Our goal is to make you feel at home at Villa Ano Gaia and to offer you a genuine experience of the things we love.
